Genre of "Life As We Knew It"

The book "Life As We Knew It" is about how the main character Miranda and her family live life in a small town in Pennsylvania, while an asteroid hit the moon at night and is now close and very visible to everyone. Since the moon is off of it's axis, that effects the weather. The weather was starting to change a lot, sometimes it would be hot and then sometimes it would be really cold. There would be earthquakes, hurricane, tsunamis, tornados and other natural causes because of the weather changing.

The genre of this book I think, would be science fiction. It would be science fiction because it's about things in outer space, and an asteroid hitting the moon could never happen. I like science fiction because science for me is an interesting topic. I think that in the future I might read another science fiction book. What I liked about my book is that it was a girls perspective on things, and that's a connection that I have with it. I also like that it was in first person point of view. I like these types of books in this point of view because you really get to know what they are felling and thinking about what's going on, and since it's like a journal that they are keeping, they give good details and it feels like you're there with them. A character that I really liked was Miranda, she was the main character. I liked that character because she was really determined and never gave up on her family with all of the things that were going on.
