Summary & Conflict On "The Maze Runner"

In "The Maze Runner", I think that this book is really interesting and entertaining for me because it catches my attention for a long time unlike some other books that I have read in the past. I am almost to the end of my book, I just need a couple more pages to finish. So where I'm at right now, is the part when Thomas, Teresa, Minho, Chuck, and some other Gladers are going to the Griever Hole. The Griever Hole is where all the scary, bad, and terrifying animals come from. They go through there because they think that that's the only way out of there, because there couldn't possibly be another way out that they know of. They have tried everything else except doing that. Before they go and try to escape they had to plan for it days before it had to happen. Thomas tried getting most of the guys to join him to go to the hole, but some of them thought it was too dangerous or they were never going to make it out alive and so they didn't want to join him. But, some of the guys did agree and did want to join him because they did not want to be in that horrible place anymore. So, when they got everything and everyone ready it was time for them to head out and start their adventure to get out of there. They headed early in the morning to the opening walls to enter the maze. Everyone stayed together because they didn't want anything bad happening to anyone. Thomas and Minho were leading the crew because they were the runners so they mostly knew more about the maze. They were trying to get to the Griever Hole as soon as possible so it won't get dark or else bad things would start to happen. When they reached the Griever Hole there was round circular tube passage where the Griever animals came from, on the side of that were buttons for the passcode that they needed to put, and on the bottom was a little red button. Then, a bunch of Grievers came out of the hole... and if you want to know more about what happened I would consider that you read it!!

I think that in "The Maze Runner" the conflict would probably be Man .vs. Society because the boys in the maze don't really know what is going on and they are trying to battle and escape from that horrible place. Maybe also Man .vs. Man because sometimes the guys would get into arguments about how some guys think that Thomas has started all this nonsense.

"Do Sports Fans Go Too Far?"

I read "Do Sports Fans Go Too Far?". The article was about sport fans that go to far with things when watching their sports team play with another team. It said that some people get in fights and hurt each other, and also hurt the people around them. They have to put barricades around place so people don't get into fights. Police Officers have to be around and aware that no one hurts anybody. And I think in the article it also said that people would get arrested. I think that the people shouldn't get to crazy with things like this. It's not worth saying bad words to people, or getting in fight with people just over a sports game. I mean like, you could get mad at the other team but just don't go to far. Maybe later on their team could get better and they could win, and so what were are those troubles for. When I go to games, I do get super mad but I keep everything inside me. I don't curse the people out, I say things about them to myself. I also just don't go fighting people just because the game. Those were my thoughts about how some people go too far with sports, I don't know what you might say...

Summary and Point Of View

I am currently reading the book, "The Maze Runner" and so far in the book it's really interesting. Thomas was always so fascinated about the runners, and finally he became one. Thomas is a runner now, and he says that being a runner is hard and pointless. He said that it's hard for his because him and Minho, his partner, had to run all the way through the maze so they could get to the Glade before it became dark. Teresa, the last and only girl, can communicate with Thomas through their minds. They barley found out that they can do that. One day, Teresa woke up out of nowhere she said something to Thomas through their mind, which was "Tom, I just triggered the ending." They both think that she has something to do with this maze program, because how can she just say something like that through their minds out of nowhere. One day, the boys and Teresa were sitting together trying to figure out things about the maze. And then Teresa showed the boys something that had been written on her bicep, which read "WICKED is good". Thomas said that he had been having dreams that said those same words. They didn't know if that meant something good or something bad. They'll have to find out sooner or later. And I'm going to have to keep on reading to find out myself!

The Maze Runner is third person point of view because the narrator talks about everyone in the book, not just one person. The narrator uses he, she, them, they, etc. Those are some key words that I know of, that consider the book a third person point of view book. A sentence in the book that could be an example of third person point of view is "The boys walked back toward the Homestead." the author is telling us that all the boys are walking back to the Homestead and not just one boy. Another sentence in my book that shows third person point of view is "Thomas shook his head slightly, feeling like he'd been in a trance. His mind was racing, wondering what Alby remembered, what he knew, what he might say about him." I like third person point of view because it's like I know what everyone in the book is doing, or what they are thinking. I think it is more interesting reading a book in third person instead of reading a book with only the point of view of one character.

"Lemon Brown"

My reaction to the story about Lemon Brown wasn't really big, because during the story the context clues were leading up to how Lemon Brown was going to be homeless and how he would look like. This story connects to what we have been learning because we've been learning about homelessness, and Lemon Brown is homeless because he just lives in an abandoned house on the block. What I found interesting about the Lemon Brown story is that even though he was homeless he was still happy about things. Most people who are homeless, usually look sad and depressed. But, Lemon Brown was telling Greg all these stories about how he was a kid he was having a bad time, but then as time passed by he started to realize that all those 'bad' things were for his own good. He also told Greg about how he had a treasure, which were his prized possessions from back then. I think that Greg did change because of the stories that Lemon Brown was telling him. Lemon Brown was telling Greg that his parents would always tell him to do things better. Greg was also having problems with his parents because they weren't letting him play ball anymore because he had bad grades. But, when Lemon Brown was telling him his stories Greg was starting to recognize the fact that his parents were trying to help him in raising his grade up, and not just let him play ball all the time.

Summary & Character Analyzes On "The Maze Runner"

So far in the book that I am currently reading which is "The Maze Runner", it's getting really interesting, suspending, and so tense! The book is about some teenagers arriving at some secret maze, and they don't know anything that had happened before because all of their memory got erased. The maze usually brings one new male teenager a month, but when Thomas arrived things totally changed differently. On Thomas's second day at the maze, a new teen arrives. But it's not a boy, it's a girl! The girls name is Teresa, and when she got to the maze, in her hand she was holding a note and it said "She is the last one. Ever." According to the characters in the book things like this never usually happens. So in the book that's where I'm at, that I currently stopped at.

The character that I am analyzing is Thomas. He is super curious! On the first day that he got at the maze he was always asking questions and being curious about everything! He also seems courageous, because when he saw the guys that would go into the maze and out he always be saying that he wanted to be one of them. The guys that have been there for a long time already have told him that he wouldn't want to do that because sometimes the people could get stuck, and would have to spend the night there because the door don't open until the morning. And nobody could ever survive a night in the maze!
